At Home PNW is a small, dedicated collection of (mostly) formerly homeless individuals with an amazing assortment of skills, all working on supporting our local Houseless community here in beautiful Thurston County, Washington. Sarah Birnel and Tony Cole take various supplies to the Houseless all over Thurston County.
An important action reposted from Glen Anderson’s blog “Glen’s Parallax Perspectives”. The U.S. Constitution requires a census that will count EVERY person in the U.S. Presumably, it must be HONEST. But Trump is planning to distort the 2020 census for blatantly racist and highly partisan purposes. Trump is planning to add a question about citizenship in order to intimidate and under count America’s immigrants.
Twenty22Many is Washington States first grass-roots, all volunteer, veteran suicide prevention and PTSD and medical cannabis awareness nonprofit organization. We accept all people no matter sexual orientation, gender, race or spirituality.
We all deserve to be able to have our health needs met without the mess that the insurance industry created. What can you do to help get us to a single payer system? Start by educating yourself with this town hall.
You can do something to help another person who is Houseless. Please consider donating needed items or cash on Saturday and Sunday at Lakefair at the “Free Speech” area at Heritage Park.
Join one of three candidates who are either progressive, independent, Democrat at the Tumwater Independence Day Parade. Victor will be sign waving and Tye and Tamborine will be in the parade. This is not a march. All participants have to be within a vehicle or trailer. Contact the campaigns to coordinate.
Oust the Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler. She wants to ELIMINATE more regulations. She voted YES on Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2019 to give “Defense” a bigger piece of the pie at the expense of helping elderly, missing middle, houseless, disabled, veterans. In 2017 Beutler voted to SLASH funding from EPA.
Show the Republican Administration that people in Washington state do not want families that are fleeing violence, murder, and death to be separate. We resist the oppressive arresting of refugees and we won’t take it lying down.
Show Republican Administration that our Olympia community stands up for families. To separate immigrant families, victims of violence, hunger, and poverty, is to re-violate them. Children as young as 18 months are torn from their mother’s arms by the U.S. government. This is violent abuse. These families are victimized again by the government to which they turn for help.
Momentum is building for more support and services for the Houseless in our community. We cannot depend on the federal government to help those who need help. We have to help at the city and county and state level. Speak up for the Houseless folks and speak to the Houseless.
I attended the Rally and Speakers at the Poor People’s Campaign on Monday, June 11. The speakers were excellent, some were local, some were from Seattle. Heart breaking stories of the Houseless in Grays Harbor County. The Grays Harbor Chaplains are working hard to help them.
From children taken from their parents to people who have lived in this country for decades, immigrants and refugees have been targeted by the Republican Administration. Do your part to be a voice that this is unacceptable and we won’t stand for it.
