Action: Demand Action from Congress On Three Critical Issues — DACA, CHIP and Puerto Rico

Today’s Action is from Olympia Indivisible on Facebook and Website.

Congressional leaders are trying to put together a budget deal to avert a government shutdown January 19th. Now is the time for Democrats to use their leverage and demand action on three critical issues. First, Democrats are demanding protection for DACA recipients and a path to citizenship for them. Second, Democrats are negotiating for a full five years of funding for CHIP, the program that funds health care for nine million children. Third, the situation in Puerto Rico must be addressed more effectively. Half of Puerto Rico is still without power three months after Hurricane Maria. Over 1.5 million people are still without electric power.

Call our Members of Congress

DACA recipients will need temporary protection from deportation while this legislation is being implemented. In addition, I want full funding for CHIP and more aid for Puerto Rico. I am asking the Senator to do everything possible including shutting down the government in order to help Dreamers, children and our citizens in Puerto Rico Thank you.

Script for Congressman Heck:
