This workshop series is intended for people who want to learn about nonviolence as both ethical and practical, and people who want to learn how to organize effectively to create good solutions for our local community, our nation, and our world.
Momentum is building for more support and services for the Houseless in our community. We cannot depend on the federal government to help those who need help. We have to help at the city and county and state level. Speak up for the Houseless folks and speak to the Houseless.
I attended the Rally and Speakers at the Poor People’s Campaign on Monday, June 11. The speakers were excellent, some were local, some were from Seattle. Heart breaking stories of the Houseless in Grays Harbor County. The Grays Harbor Chaplains are working hard to help them.
UPDATE: The resolution passed. Background, this hearing Thursday morning at 10 am at the courthouse represents a major shift in local government’s responses to homelessness. The Thurston County Commissioners will be considering a resolution declaring homelessness a public health crisis and providing direction to county staff to identify additional resources to mitigate and prevent public health emergencies associated with homelessness.
