South Sound Food System Network (Food Hub) Meeting
October 2 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am PDT
The South Sound Food System Network brings together three coalitions – Thurston Asset Building Coalition Food Hub, Thurston Thrive Food Action Team and Thurston Food System Council in order to streamline and align efforts around common interests relating to food. By coming together and meeting as one network, we are able to leverage our strengths to form a highly effective collaboration.
As a network of nonprofits, businesses, government agencies, community groups, coalitions, and individuals who connect partners and community resources, The Thurston Asset Building Coalition seeks to encourage collaboration; address food insecurity; strengthen our local food economy; advance health priorities; and, influence a vital policy agenda among food system partners and others in ways that strengthen a path to prosperity for people with limited incomes.
Our mission is to grow a vibrant local food economy, ensure broad access to healthy foods, and steward the environment in the South Sound.
We envision a thriving food system where everyone in our community enjoys and values food that is healthy, nourishing, local, affordable, culturally appropriate, sustainably produced and wisely managed.
The South Sound Food Systems Network meets every month on the first Wednesday of the month from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, at the Thurston County Public Health & Social Services building located at 412 Lilly Rd NE, Olympia. Our next meeting is scheduled for September 25, 2019. o
The SSFSN is a voluntary coalition of organizations and individuals. No formal application for membership is required.
