FRI Jan 31 donate items for SAT Feb 1 rummage sale to benefit our Nicaraguan sister community
February 1 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm PST
For decades our Thurston County area has had an informal, people-to-people sister community relationship with Santo Tomas, Nicaragua. We accomplish a lot of good work and promote solidarity.
This effort is funded by voluntary donations and by two fundraising events each year. One is the GIGANTIC RUMMAGE SALE that occurs every year at this time. For 2020 it’s from 9 am to 2 pm on SATURDAY FEBRUARY 1. Please donate items from 4 to 7 pm on FRIDAY JANUARY 31. It’s at the gym behind Lincoln School, 21st & Washington SE, Olympia.
This event will raise funds to benefit education and nutrition programs in Santo Tomás. Please bring your gently used, clean donations on Friday, Jan. 30th from 4 to 7 pm (to the gym please) and then encourage you to come back the next morning to buy other people’s cool gear. We especially seek art, jewelry, collectibles, vintage clothing, great kitchen stuff, books and music, tools, toys, bikes, sports and clean camping equipment, wood furniture (no upholstered anything or large appliances). Can you volunteer to help with the sale?Call or text (360) 464-5264 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and our volunteer coordinator will find a shift for yo
The Thurston–Santo TomásSister County Association needs strong participation (in addition to donations all year around).
The other fundraising event is our annual plant sale on SATURDAY MAY 2, 2020 on Olympia’s west side.
