I-1631 Rally: President Fawn Sharp & Dave Archambault

October 17, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PDT

Multinational Big Oil corporations are buying $20+ million in misleading ads to defeat I-1631, the climate change initiative co-authored by Washington’s tribes. Washington’s Tribes are taking the fight right back to them by holding a I-1631 rally outside of the the Western States Petroleum Association, the Big Oil lobbying group funding the propaganda campaign — and they have a special guest, Dave Archambault, who led the #NoDAPL movement as the Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux, and will join local Tribal leaders like President Fawn Sharp and Vice President Tyson Johnston of the Quinault Indian Nation, Chairman Thomas Wooten of the Samish Indian Nation, and Chairwoman Frances Charles of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe.

The October 17 Rally will be a positive, joyous event celebrating the successful campaign to pass the desperately needed climate change law that over 375,000 Washingtonians organized to put on the ballot — and raising awareness that the opposition campaign is malicious propaganda funded 99.9% by Big Oil polluters seeking to avoid accountability. Featuring multiple Tribal and environmental leaders, as well as cultural presentations and songs, the rally is open to everyone who supports addressing climate change.

Let’s make sure Big Oil hears from Washingtonians: climate change is real; we’re addressing it this year; and our elections CANNOT be bought!
