Kshama Sawant Re-Election Campaign Launch Party
March 10 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm PDT
Join #TeamKshama at our campaign kick off party to re-elect the councilmember money can’t buy.
What’s at stake this year is who runs Seattle – Amazon and big business or working people. Seattle’s District 3 socialist Councilmember Kshama Sawant has helped build powerful movements to win historic victories like the $15 minimum wage in the face of fierce corporate opposition.
Last year’s Tax Amazon struggle showed how far Amazon and big business were prepared to go to defend their profits. This year, big business is determined to get socialist and progressive representatives like Kshama out of City Hall – we can’t let them buy this election!
This year we need more, not fewer, working-class representatives like Kshama who don’t take a penny from corporate interests, and fight unambiguously for working people. Join us March 10th to continue the fight for the city we need:
★ Affordable Housing for All! The for-profit housing market has failed us. We need rent control and a major expansion of social housing, paid for by taxing Amazon and big business.
★ A Green New Deal – Make Seattle 100% renewable by 2030! We need a free, world-class mass transit system in Seattle, paid for by taxing the rich.
★ From #MeToo to #Fightback! Establish an independent City office to address workplace sexual harassment with full powers to hold corporations accountable. End the gender pay gap.
$15 donation suggested at the door. No one turned away for lack of funds. Appetizers, beer and wine will be served.
Location: Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute – Grand Rehearsal Hall, 104 17th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144
