Hebrew Priestessing – Spirituality & Social Justice in Olympia
Led by Nomy Lamm at Media Island International
March 23, 12-3 pm
$10, no one turned away for lack of funds
This workshop is for anyone interested in earth-based queer Jewish feminist spiritual practice, embodied activism, and creative expression. Explore Jewish ritual, culture, politics and survival, with an open frame on who we are, in the big picture and right here in Olympia.
We will practice ancient ritual technology for dropping in and connecting with the divine, while learning about Jewish identity and the potential for Jewish alignment with racial justice and earth-based spirituality. Please dress comfortably and bring anything that will support your ability to be present. All are welcome. You do not have to be Jewish to attend this event, let alone a “good Jew,” a “real Jew,” or any other such bupkis!
We are grateful to be invited into Media Island, a Black-woman-led and -centered space. Deep gratitude to the Nisqually, Squaxin and Chehalis people, on whose land this workshop will take place.
Access information: Media Island is located downtown Olympia, across from the library. There are 10+ steps up from the street, but if you enter from the alley in the back there is a flat accessible entrance. Media Island can not guarantee a scent-free space, but is working to reduce scent, and will have HEPA filters in the space to help reduce impact on people with scent sensitivities. For more information or to communicate about your access needs, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and/or email@example.com, or call Media Island at (360)352-8526.
