Roundtable: State of Sex Education Part 3
September 24 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm PDT
Join us for the third part of our five part discussion series on the state of sex education in Washington. Each roundtable with feature a different stakeholder in the sex education fight. Our third roundtable will feature Darya Farivar, Community and Legislation Liaison, and David Lord, Director of Public Policy, both from Disability Rights Washington.
Disability Rights Washington is a non-profit organization that protects the rights of people with disabilities statewide. Their mission is to advance the dignity, equality, and self-determination of people with disabilities.
In the 2019 Legislative session, Planned Parenthood championed for a bill that would have mandated comprehensive, inclusive, medically-accurate sex education in all Washington State Public Schools. Unfortunately, the bill died in the House. We will be championing for this bill again in the 2020 Legislative session, so join us to learn, ask questions, and engage in dialogue about this important topic!
This is a free event.
*Venue is wheelchair accessible and all ages. If you have other accessibility needs, please email Angela.Holton@ppvnh.org.
