Stand Up, Write Up: Prepare for Public Comment on PSE LNG Permit
September 22 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm PDT
Learn How to Write Letters, Editorials, and Public Comments for Puget Sound Clean Air Agency SEIS on Puget LNG
In preparation for the October 2018 Public Comment Period and Public Hearing for Oral Comments on Puget Sound Clean Air Agency’s Draft SEIS, we’ll be holding a series of workshops to prepare written and oral comments and editorials.
We’ll break all this down into understandable language, and provide some templates from which comments can be adapted. This opportunity represents the single best chance we still have to stop this climate-killing project from ever becoming operational, so we need all hands on deck!
Puget Sound Energy continues to build it’s liquefied ‘natural’ gas (LNG) processing/storage/fueling facility in the Tacoma Tide Flats, despite lacking an important key permit from Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA), without which the facility cannot become operational.
As part of their permitting process, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency opened an independent supplemental review (SEIS) to determine the cumulative greenhouse gas impacts of the facility’s fuel life cycle, from the source of extraction to the point of ignition in the TOTE ships that intend to use LNG as fuel.
In October, a draft version of this SEIS will be released for public review and commenting, before PSCAA releases their final environmental impact statement and makes a determination on the permit.
